How do you get the mask so smooth? O_o I've been making papier mache masks and even with sanding and a layer of gesso before I paint, they're still not as smooth as this.

Its a paper mache pulp, but still getting them this smooth is challenging. It requires a lot of sanding and gesso to fill in the gaps & such.

I'll have to post some process pictures to show the masks before sanding, they look pretty rough at first. ^_^

I would love you forever if you did!

I tried papier mache pulp (as in, I tried sticking newspaper through a blender, and then using that) but it just came out so rough I figured it wasn't worth all the extra sanding and gesso-ing.

I'd try Claycrete Papier Mache or Celluclay
